“As you walk through the exhibition, you will discover how the waterways, people, and industries of the Greater New York area—including all the boroughs, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley—led to the creation of a truly diverse city.” South Street Seaport Museum
Maritime City, South Street Seaport Museum’s latest exhibition, tells the story of how New York City came to be as connected to the sea. The showcase features 540 fascinating objects, including historical marine ships that illustrate how four centuries of cross-cultural exchanges flourished through the ports in Manhattan.
