Shanxi Bronze Museum, tagged as the “first bronze-themed museum at provincial level in China,” explores the usage of the common metal in various cultural occasions. The civilization is known to have emerged 5,000 years back, along the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
“Historically, Shanxi was a land rich in bronze usage and it has nurtured a splendid bronze civilization. The Shanxi Bronze Museum has collected and houses more than 2,000 bronze cultural relics, including art works, unearthed in the province.” China Daily
The permanent collection stages three unique sections called Trace of Chinese Civilization, Rites and Music of the Spring and Autumn Period, and lastly, Bronze-Making Technology.
