Building on the legacy of the former 45th Infantry Division Museum, the new Oklahoma National Guard Museum presents the wider history of Oklahoma’s Army and Air National Guard—from the territorial militia established in 1890 and the Division’s service during the Second World War to today’s domestic-response missions.
As the Oklahoma National Guard Museum states , “ Since 1890, Your Oklahoma National Guard has been on duty. ”
The new facility gives its mission to collect, preserve and interpret that history a permanent home. Across approximately 20,000 square feet of galleries, artifacts, archival documents and personal accounts reveal more than a century of service, the people behind it and the defining moments they experienced.
Much of this narrative unfolds through objects presented at close range within the museum’s display cases.
Luxam provided MicroLED lighting and precision focusing throughout the exhibits, carefully revealing the form, materials and details of each artifact. The controlled lighting brings clarity and presence to the collection, inviting visitors to look more closely and connect with the individual stories behind Oklahoma’s military history.
